Pitch vs Storydoc: which AI deck tool tracks a sales pitch better

Storydoc wins on CRM-linked, slide-level tracking. Pitch wins on PowerPoint handoff and shared pitch rooms. Scores and sources from the 2026.10 run.

Pitch and Storydoc both build decks that go to a buyer by link, not only decks shown on a stage. In this comparison, “deck” means a slide sequence that a rep or founder sends and wants to follow up on. It does not mean a screen recording or a video clip.

Verdict first

Pick Storydoc when the deck goes to a named prospect and you want the CRM record to show how far that person read. Pick Pitch when a team builds the deck together, a client needs an editable PowerPoint file, and several people should be able to open one shared room.

In the 2026.10 run, Storydoc scored 90 out of 100 and Pitch scored 30. Most of that gap comes from the tracking and CRM dimensions, which carry 60 of the 100 points. The gap says nothing about design quality, and a good designer could make a better Pitch deck than a weak Storydoc one.

What we checked

We read each vendor’s public pricing and feature pages on 2026-10-17, plus Storydoc’s CRM help articles. The index has four dimensions: viewer tracking (30 points), CRM connection (30), live chart and data handling (20), and handoff or presenter tools (20). Every rule is published on the method page.

Pages behind the Pitch and Storydoc rows: Pitch pricing page, Storydoc pricing page.

A “not stated” entry means we did not find the feature on the pages checked. It does not prove the product lacks it, and the index scores it as zero for that reason.

Where Storydoc is stronger

The CRM path is the reason. Storydoc’s HubSpot page says each link open, read-through and CTA click is logged on the contact record, and its Salesforce page says the viewer sits inside the record page. Picture a rep who sends three versions of one proposal to three buyers. The CRM shows which version was opened and which buyer stopped halfway, without a separate dashboard.

Two limits matter. The Salesforce integration is listed for the Teams plan, so a Starter account will not get it. And the connector writes activity to the record, but it does not tell you which slide led to a reply; that still takes judgement.

Where Pitch is stronger

File handoff. Pitch lists PowerPoint export on its Plus plan, with no Pitch branding, and it accepts PPTX uploads. If a client’s procurement team wants an editable deck, Pitch covers that case and Storydoc, as listed, offers PDF.

Pitch’s Team tier also includes shared pitch rooms: one link lets a group share decks and resources, then see how clients engage. For a team that reviews a deck before it leaves the building, that workflow fits better than sending a link per person.

Pitch’s free plan gives 100 AI credits that do not renew, so you can test the editor on one deck before you pay.

Who should pick neither

If your deck needs charts that update from a spreadsheet, neither tool is the strongest choice in this run. Pitch’s pages mention no chart linking, and Storydoc’s live-data wording covers variables rather than charts. The Beautiful.ai comparison covers the chart case more closely.

Evidence and method

Sources are vendor pricing and feature pages fetched on 2026-10-17, and Storydoc’s CRM help and integration pages read the same day. We did not trial either product, we did not test exports, and we did not measure whether the tracking changes how deals close. Storydoc’s plan table and its feature list use different wording for analytics, so confirm the tier on the checkout page before you buy.

Summary

  • Choose Storydoc for CRM-linked outreach with slide-level tracking.
  • Choose Pitch for PowerPoint handoff and team review in shared rooms.
  • Check both checkout pages; prices and tier names change more often than feature lists.

FAQ

Which is better for tracking who reads a sales deck, Pitch or Storydoc?

Storydoc. Its pricing page lists deck analytics with alerts, and its CRM help pages describe native HubSpot and Salesforce connections that log each opened link on the contact record. Pitch's Team tier tracks visits, slide views and time on slide, but the pages we checked name no CRM connector.

Can I hand a Pitch or Storydoc deck to a client as a PowerPoint file?

Pitch lists PowerPoint export on its Plus plan, priced at 10 euros a month billed yearly. The Storydoc pricing page lists PDF export across its plans and does not list PowerPoint export.

Is Storydoc more expensive than Pitch?

The entry prices are not directly comparable. Storydoc Starter is 19.80 US dollars a month billed annually, and Pitch Plus is 10 euros a month billed yearly. Pitch's total cost also depends on the seat count you select.
